Colin Hanks sucked

Colin Hanks was contrived and way overplaying the weirdness factor.... But lots of good frontal nudity, kind of disturbing... but it's kind of unbeilevable so it's not terribly disturbing. I liked it. Deserves a 6.2 like imdb says. Maybe even a 7. It was better than most films Ive watched lately.

IMO I thought he nailed the part. In this day and age I'm sure there are even weirder sickos out there. The part where he first met Amy's friend and his facial expression suddenly changed and things became awkward really seemed real. It was really awkward.

I hated him and wanted him to get busted/rejected by Amy so many times so he must have played the role effectively imo. lol. :)

if he weirded you out as you explained, then he did his job perfectly. I wanted to kick his ass so bad at the end, he played one of the best losers i've seen on film.

I totally agree with the bit about colin's, i really didnt buy his creepiness at all, he did overplay it or was it the director who couldn't get more of him, i dunno...but ana claudia & her friend played their parts very well & came across very natural.
I did not buy the way he slipped in & out of her flat so easily as if he's a real pro, what is that guy, the invisible man? i also did not like the fact that he was able to spy on her all that time without anything giving him away, then he kills her friend & she in the end & gets away with it, surely someone would've heard the struggle. I think the film could have been a lot better if someone else played hanks role, because i really felt he was acting.

I was totally caught up in his acting. It made me consider the possibilty that Colin might be a little creepy in real life. They do sell hidden cameras to everyone...perhaps to famous young actors....haha

I'm a movie buff... hence my name, and i totally baught into Colin's acting in this film. I give him an A. He was attempting to portray a creepy guy... he pulled that off.

I thought he did a good job protraying a complete twisted loser character.
The problem i had is i couldnĀ“t stop looking at his obvious wig.
Was that intentional?
Why was it so fake looking?

Colin Hanks delivers a fantastic performance, understated and credible. He completely captures the pathos and frustration of a character that is incapable of socializing in a normal way.

I thought he was completely creepy, i just got done watching it and i don't want to go to bed. It's 12:30 in the morning, and am so tired but i've got Colin Hanks stuck in my head and i can't get him out. Normally that wouldn't bother me but ugh! Bad Colin! His creepiness factor was up there. Very disturbing, and i'm a cop, i don't get very disturbed a lot. i don't keep movies more than a day on netflix usually, but i'm gonna have to watch it again. i loved how he covered her up in the end, because he felt bad about it. just creepy. 2 thumbs up.

There were a couple times where I felt he was forcing the nerd persona too much. He also kinda overplayed the concerned-friend instances, I thought he didn't seem very genuine or even creepy with those scenes. Other than that I wanted him to DIE horribly so he did a good job, lol.

I totally agree with that other poster who mentioned his facial expression changing after meeting Amy's best friend. Very awkward and disturbing, yet realistic. I think alot of people have been there, too, like "oh God this person is here and they are going to ruin everything, I hate them even though I don't know them", but most of us AREN'T psychos like Doug, which makes it even creepier cause you don't know what he's actually thinking.

I thought he was pretty good, and I'm generally not a fan of his.

Completely agree. Colin Hanks was the weak factor and only thing keeping this from being a really good movie. He simply can't act. Over weird, under-weird, he simply sucked. Really too bad because the film would have been so much better with a good actor. Freaking nepotism.

@james19

Nepotism? This is a pretty good low-budget no-name indie flick I'd never even heard of myself--I seriously doubt that it took any nepotism for Hanks to snag a role in this flick---it's not anywhere near the typical Hollywood blockbusters his dad plays in. And this is the first flick I've seen him in, so all I can say is that he played the nice, normal guy role pretty well until you see his character's facade start to crack under the lies he keeps telling to worm his way into his victim's life. I didn't think there was anything over or under the top about his acting---he did a pretty decent job. I usually watch and see what an actor can actually do before I start slamming them about being another famous actor's son which in itself is no guarantee of acting talent, or stardom, for that matter.) . Bottom line---either someone can act or they can't, and it seems like he can.
