Why did McCall time everything with his watch?

Like when he timed how long the restaurant fight would take. It's been a couple weeks since I saw it, but it seems like several times he was timing things. What was the point of this? Did I miss some explanation about it?

I never picked up on his OCD. Good add-in.

I know he has OCD and agree it does play some role in being time obsessed, but I believe he started his timer during the attack on the russian pimps because he knew exactly how he would be killing the head guy and that if he finished the attack at a given time he knew he would have a certain amount of seconds left before he bled out. And he was right. Ruthless efficiency combined with incredible skill combined with OCD is a deadly combination...

Long story short, his character has OCD. You can tell he has OCD by the way he opened and closed the door repeatedly in the Russian restaurant before killing the Russian mobsters. Also, when he wraps his tea bag with a napkin at home and then arranges his book at spoon at the diner.

The audience is to understand that McCall has a mysterious past. We get to speculate to a point about it, but one thing we see is that he brings from his past certain habits, skills which he uses in his current life.
