Katie Cassidy calls it worst film of all time.

I hate when actresses do that.

She was the worst actress involved, maybe that's why she hates it.

Silly cow.

I love this film, year after year, so fun and entertaining.

I'll take this one over the When A Stranger Calls and Nightmare on Elm St remakes she also starred in.

"I'm just not used to being chased around a mall in the middle of the night by killer robots!"

reply

guess her and i can agree...well it's not the worst film of all time but it's an insult to the original and this is coming from someone who thought that a good remake of this could improve on the original but they just made it silly and worthless.

reply

stick with the boring original then

reply

When'd she say that?

She's entitled to her opinion though. It wouldn't make her the first actor to put down one of her earlier films. Even Glen Morgan and Kristen Cloke weren't too happy with the final product.

I don't have a Twitter account, but it just says "my mistake- aside from BLACK CHRISTMAS" so that could mean anything. Unless there's more. She could've meant it as a joke, or that she didn't like it, but she didn't call it the worst film of all time. I know it's a matter of opinion, but it's certainly more fun than the other remakes she's gotten her fingerprints on, but I wouldn't be surprised if she tweeted negatively because the movie is a horror film set on Christmas. People bitch about those kind of movies all the time.

It's disheartening to hear that Katie thinks that. I rather liked Katie's and the rest of the girl's performences.

Ehh about Glenn Morgan perhaps Producers had him in a Vice Grip and messed with the movie. As it stands I enjoy the movie for what it is. But it's inferior to the original.

reply

worst of all time? Katie really should watch most Ulli Lommel films then she should talk about worst movie ever

this was an ok remake could have been better but still a fun horror movie

I am wondering if by that she meant "Worst movie I have ever done" because even that is untrue. Elm Street remake that she also starred in was worse, and this was really bad.

reply

She probably meant it was the worst film she's done, which is probably true.

It's a little more enjoyable than A NIGHTMARE ON ELM STREET (2010), and less boring than WHEN A STRANGER CALLS (2006).

The worst parts of BLACK CHRISTMAS (2006) frankly have to do with the killer(s).

I would probably put it above Elm Street personally, but quality-wise I'd say Elm Street is the better film. BC is a guilty pleasure, but it's still pretty bad, and nothing close to the original. Elm Street was just underwhelming.

When a Stranger Calls...meh. It wasn't horrible but it was boring like you said.

reply

I actually like When a Stranger Calls (2006) slightly more than Black Christmas (2006). It's nothing too special, but I like the house and the slow burn horror throwback.

reply

Me too, I enjoyed both films, I wouldn't say it was one of the "worst films of all time."

"I am the ultimate badass, you do not wanna `*beep*` wit me!"- Hudson in Aliens.

I just looked at her tweet. It's pretty clearly a joke.
I can't blame her too much if she does dislike it though. The backstory was horrible, despite the fun sorority scenes

Yep, cut out the backstory and give us more personality from all the cute sorority girls and this would have been a fun guilty pleasure. A shame.

reply

Yeah, I thought they should have used Kyle as a sort of unreliable narrator and the Billy Lenz story he told would have been urban myth/BS. All of the Billy flashbacks and the cliche sanitorium scenes would have been revealed as lies, which could still be visually represented on screen, with Kyle as the real Ted Bundy-like killer revealing this at the end to his final victim(s).

Like your idea Robotext. A shame that wasn't the route they went.
