Katie Cassidy calls it worst film of all time.

I hate when actresses do that.

She was the worst actress involved, maybe that's why she hates it.

Silly cow.

I love this film, year after year, so fun and entertaining.

the experience was probably the worst. From what I've read the set was really tense because of disputes between the directors and the producers. The final product drastically changed from original idea. It could have been better. Slightly better, but better.

The worst thing about this movie are the girls' characterizations. They were all the same. I didn't know all the actresses and thus had no way to differentiate except hair color.

Andrea Martin was the best thing in it.

Except they really weren't. If you can't tell the fact that Lauren is a super drunken party girl, Dana is a spoiled narcissistic bitch, or that Melissa's loyal and friendly, then.... I definitely wouldn't argue that the girls were amazingly developed, but they're hardly anonymous

I never used the word 'anonymous'. And what you are describing are archetypes - not characterization. Sounds like we agree.

"all the same" = No differences in their personalities. These girls were stock archetypes, but that doesn't make them all the same. We definitely don't agree.

Agreed with you scorpion. More screentime definitely would have given the actresses more of an opportunity to develop their characterizations.

Bit unfair, the film was crap (from my memory anyway). I noticed Sky are showing it again today on the Sky Christmas channel, I may give it another watch.

I too think Katie was the weakest link here. She wasn't fit for the lead, in my opinion. I still love this movie though. It's a great and over-the-top Christmas flick.

reply

LOL exactly. Yet she was in A Nightmare on Elm Street. Silence please, Katie. You've lost your ability to speak on bad movies.

reply

LOL, I never saw that before.

Look, I'm a Katie Cassidy hardcore fan and I LOVE this movie because reunite her with Mary Elizabeth Winstead -who is my other celebrity obsession-, but I always thought Katie was miscast. I think Kelli doesn't really fit her, she would have done better with Melissa or Lauren IMO.

But she's not the only one, like the other user said, this movie was a mess from beginning to end, drama on set, the reshoots behind the directors back, the whole controversy of releasing this on x-mas day, Mary Winstead doesn't like to talk about this project either, same for Lacey Chabert ... and Glen Morgan (and his family) also publicly shamed this movie/the studio.

But Katie was obviously joking and the title of this topic is very exaggerated.

reply

I didn't find her that bad. hmmmm.
