This was NOT a remake.

Okay, well it started out to be that way. But it ended up in a totally different category. That category being... well I don't know. But the only similarities this film has to the original BC is that it involves sorority girls, and a murderer. If you watch this film without involving the original, then it's actually pretty amazing. There hasn't been a horror film like this in a very long time. I know that Glen isn't happy with the final product, and that's understandable(after what happened after initial filming). But this film is picking up steam as the years go on. Just look at the DVD sales. This has a HUGE following! It evolved into something more than the original was, right after it was released into theaters. And people are showing their love for this film. This film isn't a remake gone horribly wrong. Black Christmas (2006) has it's own legs! It's an incredibly awkward and different story than has ever been told before. This movie has LEGS of it's own! The cinematography of this movie is incredible! It's the ONLY movie out there, that feels so much like Christmas, yet lives in a completely different category than most Christmas films. This film has amazing actresses that are well known, and I hope that this turns out to be the film they look back on, and while right now it might not be a highlight in their careers, but in the future, it WILL BE. Only time will tell..

I love this film and I think it definitely deserves more credit than it receives. And I think most TRUE HORROR fans agree.

It's actually just a bad movie.

I always watch remakes as they were original movies and how well they are made. This one is just a bad movie.

most TRUE HORROR fans disagree. It's just a *beep* remake and *beep* horror movie overall.

It tries to be too cute which simply doesn't work for it. Characters are bland. The only one I can remember was Crystal Lowe's character and that's because her whole character was "drunken girl" gimmick, and it's quite bad when the only thing you can remember about their character is their gimmick.

It's gory, that's true, but gore is so over the top that it just becomes annoying. Kills too. They aren't that memorable either, most of them are just "put a plastic bag on someone, stab them, pluck their eyes out and eat them". That's pretty much every death scene.

The reason why "suffocation by plastic bag" was creepy in original is because it was so simple and so subtle. It was just chilling. Here, it's just ridiculous. And don't even get me started on dumb old cliches and character choices. If they weren't killed during the movie I would expect their life to be over in about 10 minutes after the movie because they seem to be braindead.

So no. Most TRUE HORROR fans disagree with you.

Actually there were. Even around that time. And they weren't remakes. "The Descent" rings a bell?

It evolved into something more than the original was

Are you kidding? You must be.

This film isn't a remake gone horribly wrong.

it's exactly that.

The cinematography of this movie is incredible!

You serious?

It's the ONLY movie out there, that feels so much like Christmas,

Huh? You're kidding, right?

This film has amazing actresses that are well known

Well known, yeah, sure. Pretty? Sure. But amazing? Not at all. Acting was quite bad even for over the top slasher movie. But to be fair, with screenplay like this, they just didn't have anything to do. Even in other projects, I wasn't too impressed with any of them. The only fairly descent actress is in fact Andrea Martin, who just didn't do anything in this movie. She was just there shouting "Gifts! Gifts! Gifts!"

and I hope that this turns out to be the film they look back on

Like Katie Cassidy?

and while right now it might not be a highlight in their careers, but in the future, it WILL BE.

So will be "Catwoman" for Halle Berry. Mark my words.
