Am I the only one who thinks that this movie is much better than the original??

I agree with you. I know the original was ground-breaking and unique for its time, but I found it to be boring and aged poorly.
While I certainly hate that the remake wasn't the vision glad Morgan had intended, it still ended up being a very fun movie, especially when viewed with an audience during the holiday season.
The audience reaction to the cookie-cutter sequence was worth the price of admission alone!

Same here. The original is dull and tedious. The remake is amazingly fun and insanely rewatchable.

No offence to Olivia Hussey but she made the original what it is today - a torturous trial to get through. I just wanted the killer to off her.

It is worked out that Olivia Hussey's character Jess could be the Killer ..I don't think people understood the concept of the original, but notice how surprisingly cold and manipulative Jess is, including secretly resentful.
As for the 2006 version. I want to watch it, reading how gory it is.
Let's say I love the original for its dark suspense ..the slow pace was normal in 70's, 80's and early 90's films.
The movies of 2000 onwards are more louder and butcher and co. I amit the Black Christmas 2006 movie didn't receive much public attention it deserved

shareThe original is the better made film imo, BUT, 9/10 times I will pop the remake into my dvd player over the original. The remake is heaps and bounds more entertaining. I really have to be in the mood for the original and might give it a watch every few years or so, while I could(and do) watch the remake every year around Christmas time.
