They are " kids " for God's sake ..
In America, you would tell a kid to not stay late or to go do their homework, but in a dangerous place like that, he gave them a " gun " and told them not to play with it. There's nothing wrong with them themselves, there's something wrong with the whole idea, the government , the poverty, the state of the father, .. etc

It's Morocco not Afghanistan, it isn't a dangerous place, else a tourist bus wouldn't be there in the first place.

The kids were just stupid, along with their father. Similar things happen in the US regularly.

you are so right. I am in Canada and there are quite a few stories of American toddlers shooting mothers or other siblings that really sends a message about some crazy American parents.

Kids in the 3rd world like in yhe middle east has no education. There's no schools in those areas to teach then from what is right and wrong. Even the generation before doesn't know much.

I'm sure most humans know that pointing a weapon at someone is dangerous. The was about sibling rivalry taken one step too far because of arrogance, envy, and basic child stupidity that never considers consequences. Let's add parental miscommunication as well. Regardless of where you live, you don't hand your kid a gun without safety and training. A person with basic gun knowledge knows that you should never point a firearm at anything or anyone unless you want to kill it. I see far too many kids killing each other because of one simple sentence, "do you want to see my dad's gun?".

The older brother was jealous of the younger brother. Their father said it without saying it of course, but as the first born son wasn't as good as the little brother. Older brother's are supposed to teach the younger brother, not have him surpass him in a skill or talent.

They are part of the 'Arab world'(https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Arab_world), they speak Arabic and they adhere to Islam.

They clearly knew right from wrong and disobeying your parents or elders is a serious offense in Arabic families, I married into one, so I know.
