A few questions about "Cigarette Burns" by John Carpenter. SPOILERS.

As very good as that episode is, coming across as an amalgamation of 8MM, The Ring, Videodrome, In the Mouth of Madness and The Ninth Gate, I still had to wonder about a few things, wonder if anyone who saw it picked up on it. SPOILERS alert, if you haven't seen it, see it first anyways.

1). When Normas Reedus' character first came across that strange looking man chained in Udo Kier's room, why hasn't he asked the man further questions like "who is he?" and "why do you have him chained like that?", and did he not suspect or realize that he may be either a supernatural being (angel, which turned out to be true!) or maybe a prisoner held against his will somehow? And how come for example when meeting that friend of his in the theatre he completely avoided mentioning the strange man kept chained in that man's house?

2). Isn't it interesting how, with all the rumour about "La Fin Absolue Du Monde" causing audiences to lose their sanity and whatnot, none of the people whether that French guy or the critic or anyone else even remotely suspected or questioned if a film was in any way SUPERNATURAL, even that guy writing TONS of pages of the film review. I mean, no matter how extreme films can get and even if they have say real violence or illegal material, they are not able like that to cause someone to commit murder and self harm, but why such obvious possibility being so completely oblivious to seemingly intelligent people shown in the movie?

3). What was that deal with the 8MM (1999 Nicolas Cage film)-esque snuff filmmaker and his gang? Why did he murder that female taxi driver and why were those criminals involved in the story at all? Also, spoiler, how did Norman Reedus' character break free and kill them all, did that angel help him via telekinesis or some other supernatural means?

4). Can ANYONE who viewed "La Fin Absolue Du Monde" no matter its supernatural power have escaped death or suffering and remain unscathed, or would anyone who so much as laid a second of an eye on it doomed to a horribly grisly fate?

5). Why did no-one bother to ask or check Bakovic's wife's collection before if they were so keen on finding the film, did she have it hidden until recently?

6). How did Udo Kier's character capture that Angel and succeed in getting him trapped and chained in his room, why wasn't the Angel able to somehow escape or fight against him? And why and where did he get him from like that?

Cheers.
