Pro-Life (Spoilers)

LOL!!!!

Son of a bitching hell I just watched John Carpenter's Pro-Life episode and it was HI-LARIOUS!!!

I'm sorry but even as a huge Carpenter fan the episode was Terrible with a capital URRIBLE. (Turrible). Acting was atrocious with only Ron Perlman seeming to get what a joke this all was. The pregnant 15 year old (looking all of 25) was especially awful.

But hell, it was hard not to enjoy the hell out of how cheesy and over-the-top & goofy it was. I mean when someone gets drenched in blood in a horror movie it can be funny but vaginal fluid was just ridiculous! And male abortions? Gag-inducing but so stupidly funny.

This was just a ridiculous black comedy. Can't say it's a recommendable film but if you wanna laugh & maybe gag in your mouth a little it's a fun watch.

This whole thing was just odd since Cigarette Burns was so effective.

There. It's on the Internet. Thus it's official

I feel like this episode was just meant to be fun and that's what it came across as.

Cigarette Burns? That was almost like Carpenter treating this series as a competition, showing he COULD very well make the scariest and best episode if he wanted, and he did.

This one? This felt like it was just a small little movie he could have fun with. Cool monster effect, return to the siege format, lightly comment on something topical, it's not perfect but it's fun.

Much of this episode is pretty well directed, and Ron Perlman was the best part of the entire production.

i just finished watching this; it was abysmal, gah. i knew it was going to be ropey when dwayne turned up and no-one called the police straight away, given he was in violation of a court order. then he and his family blast their way in, and not one of the patients or staff have a cell phone to call 911.

i decided not to watch the male abortion as by then i was bored and wanted this to be over, so i fast forwarded that bit.

given that the girl short the demon's baby in the head, why did the demon let her live? i was expecting him to tear her limb from limb. why choose her for procreation anyway? don't they have female demons in hell?

The episode could have been better. But I don't think it totally sucked.

One thing I was most disappointed about was the doctor living. he seemed like a coward, and very unlikable.

1. He admits he won't touch Dwayne's daughter because he'd kill him.
2. The later, while behind a fence, he tries to act like a hardass. Surely he wouldn't have said anything to Dwayne if they weren't separated.
3. Then he makes a very large accusation that Dwayne raped his daughter, with NO kind of proof. Then taunts him about it at the gate, and smirks.
4. Then when the Demon baby arrives, he runs out of the room, leaving the girl there with it. So much for all his talk of helping her.

Yet he's one of the survivors. That ticks me off more than anything else this episode. lol

WHOA whoa whoa. The doc who abandoned her in that room ALSO accused her dad of rape?? That pathetic little WEASEL!

reply

Yes. She shows up pregnant, but doesn't wanna go into detail. He goes to see Keifer, and says he believes she was raped. Dr. K. asks who raped her. And he replies that she didn't say, but she was running scared from someone, and her father shows up 10 min. later, and that the answer should be clear. Dr. K tells him that he just made a hell of an accusation.

Then when he talks Dwayne at the gate, he says "The baby is your's isn't it?" Dwayne lunges at him, and he backs up very quickly, but smirks and asks Dwayne is it was supposed to be a secret, before walking away.

That piece of GARBAGE. Then the coward runs away when she's in trouble. Really shows how much so many of those creeps actually care about women.
