this deserves a lot more than it did...

I enjoyed this movie over Finding Nemo, Wall-E and Up. I'd say its on same par with The Incredibles, Ratatouille, and Surf's Up.

I am just curious why this movie didn't make it on to imdb 250 list????? I am loosing faith in imdb's 250 list....

I think this movie deserves what it has gotten so far. If you prefer it over some of the bigger Pixar hits that's perfectly fine as it is your preference. But in all honesty, this movie is nowhere near something like "Toy Story" or "Monster Inc." or "Finding Nemo".

To begin, there is nothing new or innovative in the story of "Kung Fu Panda". It has been done before many times in movies like "Bulletproof Monk" and others like it. It made the movie rather predictable. Look at "Wall-E" or "Monster Inc" in comparison. Such brilliant and original stories!

Secondly, there weren't many interesting secondary characters in "Kung Fu Panda" and the ones that were, didn't get much screen time. The movie was mostly dominated by Po and Shifu with everybody else relegated to extremely minor roles like Monkey, who probably had 4 lines in the entire movie.

Also there wasn't much character development for the secondary characters. Monkey, Tigress, Manits, Viper, Crane didn't have any interesting characteristics or idiosyncrasies. Compare it to the fishes in the aquarium in "Finding Nemo" where each had a special individualistic trait.

The animation of "Kung Fu Panda", while certainly better than Dreamworks' earlier movies, wasn't nearly as mind-blowing as Pixar's.

All in all, "Kung Fu Panda" is a good movie, aimed mainly at children and a rating of 7.6 on IMDB is VERY respectable!

Mr McGee, don't make me angry. You wouldn't like me when I'm angry!

I have to agree. I would give this movie 9.9 for the artwork alone. I have to say that I found Finding Nemo really predictable fare that is done much better in The Little Mermaid and Wall-E is, in my opinion, the most over rated piece of boring rubbish I have ever seen (until Frozen). It does nothing, says nothing and left me with a sense of frustration at having wasted time watching it.

The user and critic rating is high enough already. Just saw it for the first time, didn't expect it to be so simple and straightforward, with all that chosen one cliche, frankly it's a little bit disappointing.
