am I missing something here? or is it just severely overrated

Had high hopes after reading posts here, but I'm pretty disappointed having seen it. Movie had irritating actors (especially Grant Grant, can't stand his face prior to his infection) and cheesy scenes which weren't entertaining at all.

Like every movie board on IMDb, there's always a flock of snobs jumping on the person who didn't like the film. The typical argument is "you just didn't get it" or "you obviously aren't intelligent enough to understand the satire". So pardon my ignorance, but what is it that I'm not getting here? Movie looks simple enough, but most importantly I wasn't entertained. at all. I was expecting a good comedy horror but instead was left with a cheesy movie that looks like straight-to-dvd material. It was neither scary nor humorous, so it pretty much fails in both departments.
