I got a terrible stomach ache and wanted to vomit after watching up to the red-haired girl becoming the size of a *beep* bus. I turned around and went to sleep. I will never watch the rest of this movie..or the beginning again. I know, I know..I sound like a five-year old. I probably shouldn't watch horror/gore movies. But there's only been one other movie to do this. And that was Cabin Fever.. also never watching that again. I just had to say that.
I hate the stupid kids that came from The-N.com. Grow a brain.
Dunno, I've seen worse things than this movie. Only thing I found a smidge freaky was the part where Grant injects people with that strange goo that impregnates them with the slugs. But all in all, this wasn't really a big deal? It was pretty much hilarious.
The basic problem with this movie is that (like most re-hashes) it has all been done before. It unsuccessfully tried to build on common themes, and take it in different directions. In the end, it failed with the latter.
Brenda being impregnated with the slugs was a rehash of the chestburster from Alien. That is, a creature, or group of creatures, uses the human body as a host. The victim is violated and dies with the emerging of the creatures. Brenda's condition took it further, by making her appearance grotesque. The thing that actually disturbed me the most about this scene was how she asked about her son. I think it was her second line after she was revealed as bloated in the barn.
The other thing that crossed my mind when watching this movie was "How are the heroes going to eliminate ALL of these slugs and zombies?" Will it be the old "lure them into a mall, movie theatre, etc. and kill them en masse with a gas explosion (ala Gremlins, and others) or destroy the "mother ship" to render the slugs and zombies useless (ala Phantom Menace, and others)? This movie went with the latter, and was truly ungratifying.
I havn't seen the movie but does she actually expand on screen? I figured it was just a before and after type thing :/
And to the op, even though your post is about 2 years old. I haven't even watched the movie and i feel sick in my stomach. Different things and gross and disturbing to different people everyone.
I actually agree, this movie was *beep* disgusting.
I used to watch this with my best friend all the time. It was one of those "so bad, you can't look away" type of situations. Some of the quotes make us laugh really hard, too. I haven't seen this in awhile (we used to watch it almost every weekend), but it was a very nasty movie. I can watch it, but there are some parts that make me feel a little sick.
