Why not have Burton direct Batman 3 and Superman Lives as DC Elseworlds?

Burton directs both back to back. budget 100m each. Release in the 'Elseworlds' division of DC Universe (alongside The Batman, Joker). Ideally theatre only release but could do limited theatre/streaming if necessary

I get they wouldn't want to do that with DCEU (releasing Synder JL2, MoS2, the Batfleck movie as Elseworlds movies) as its the previous recent regime that Gunn trying to distance from, but a Burton Batman 3 & Superman Lives would be ideal in DCE

Batman 3 would star Keaton (obviously) and probably be based on Batman Beyond/Dark Knight Returns.with Michelle Pfeiffer returning as Catwoman and some older villains cameos (had Keaton/Burton done more back in the 90s) like Riddler (Carrey as no Williams), Dr Freeze (Patrick Stewart), Poison Ivy (Demi Moore?) and Batgirl (Winona Ryder), plus Cage Superman maybe (Keaton could cameo in Superman Lives) and maybe the big villain he'd go up against could be either the son or a copycat of Jack Nicolson's Joker (Depp)

Superman Lives would star Cage (minus CGI!) with the cast that would've been it in 98: Sandra Bullock/Lois, Chris Walken/Brainiac, Kevin Spacey/Lex,

I'd be up for Batman 3 in a heartbeat, but I'm a big NO on Cage as Superman. I was then and I am now. Then again, I probably wouldn't watch Superman Lives (unless Keaton did cameo), as I'm not a fan of the character anyway.

I think they already spoiled the possibility of doing a Batman 3 because they wasted that gimmick on The Flash. It wouldn't be as successful without the gimmick of being the first time audiences saw Keatons Batman back and people would be confused because they already promoted his return in 2023 so why are they doing it again? Keaton is in his 70s now, face the music it is never going to happen.

True, had Keaton refused to do The Flash and said 'I'll only come back if its a Burton Batman 3' then maybe they'd be a chance as an Elseworlds flick (in fact he and Burton might've reteamed for Batman about now instead of Beetlejuice). But it obviously seemed a pretty cool offer at the time to come back as Batman in the current reigning DCEU via the multiverse (taking over from Affleck who was done due to various personal issues, the failure of 2017 JL, and his solo Bat movie that he was going to direct falling through) for multiple movies 'Nick Fury' style starting with Flash and potentially leading to a Justice League '2' and a solo Batman '3'/Batman Beyond (that maybe even Burton would be interested in directing ..)

And regarding the future if DC eventually do a Crisis on Infinite Earths multiverse movie a few years down the line it would obviously feature the DCEU lot (Affleck Cavill Gadot Momoa) interacting with/helping out the new DCU Gunn lot, but less likely to feature Keaton, Cage, CGI Reeve, Clooney etc as they've had their shot in The Flash (which bombed)

No no no. He's way too old now. Half of it would be CGI.

Right. They should never have put Keaton's Batman in there...
