and the point of this "Battle" robot being a girl is.... what?

I guess I didn't connect with this character. At all. "BATTLE ANGEL"
Why is she like a human girl instead of a 17 armed battle droid thing?
I will admit, I could barely maintain concentration while watching this, as I had some newly painted walls to watch dry at the same time, and those kept my attention more. So, I maybe missed some big explanation as to why a BATTLE ANGLE ROBOT was a little girl.
I knew she was made of spare parts and all that...
like I said, I didn't connect, just another CGI 'splosen to me.

reply

why do any robots exist in anything resembling human form from the robot butler to the Terminator?
theyd all be better just being machines designed to do their job.
like a toaster

edit ,
sorry I thoght that was a serious question , now i realize its just another of your "I hate Women" threads

The answer is:
viewing figures will be larger due to horny teenage boys added , even when you subtract the amount of women hating bigots who might boycott it because there isnt a big muscly white man for them on screen.

reply

Hahaha aha I don't hate women and the question was serious.

What was the point of this robot shaped like a little girl instead of a super tank. It seemed stupid.

The matrix had many purpose driven robots and they looked not even remotely human. That makes more sense

reply

I thought she had a human brain buried in there. Which makes her a CYBORG, not a robot, and explains why should would want to look like a girl, kind of/sort of-ish...

reply

yeah , but now he'll just ask why they had a brains girl buried in there instead of a man.

reply

My subtext is that for an action flick, it was boring. The lead character didn't help. TO ME.

reply

Even action films have characters who are male or female. I guess there might be a few where the main character was a genderless robot or murder machine of some type, but generally they are characters that have relationships with other characters and character arcs, and at least part of the story is about that.

The movie was only 2 hours. They did shit. I assume that if you read the manga it was based on, that over time you got to see even more of that character story.

Now, you raise an interesting point. It might be cool to see a character presented who does none of that...

Even like Hard Henry the character had a gender and relationships with other character and that was part of the plot...

Yeah, a movie where the main character is just a death machine, with nothing of that... would be interesting to see if they could make the character relatable.

Liek what if Terminator One was told from the pov of the Cyborg...

You know I've seen thumbnails for a book series where the main character is a "murder-bot". You might want to try googling it.

One of the appeal of this entire franchise is watching a hot woman punch fascists into shrapnel and gore. You're really picking the wrong movie to watch here.

reply

Ah yes, another douche on the internet to use the term fascist incorrectly.

It's a Japanese thing - a girl in very tight clothes with big boobs (usually).
This manga/anime is quite old - so this is not related to the woke era - just a reflection of the Japanese society that has been governed by the Hentai elites.

reply

i wasn't even talking about woke here, just a little girl frame doesn't make a lot of sense for a "BATTLE ROBOT" er.... angel whatever. it's like, why give robots BREAST areas even? is there a purpose of that? why even make them human looking when another form could be much much more effective.
yeah, I knew it was from anime stuff.... just wondering if there was any expenation for this battle bot to be a girl frame?

reply

It could serve as a decent assassination bot - looks like a child (with boobs?!), puts peeps/security at ease - gets behind the enemy lines/security checks and then it takes everyone out.

In general terms, if you have a security bot that looks intimidating (like arnold), the role there is potentially to prevent violence from happening in the first place. When you have a bot with similar lethality, but doesn't look intimidating at all - the role there is for the bot to fit in, be inconspicuous - that's useful in an assassination role or in situations where you don't want a baddy to spot the location of security, thereby avoiding it.

reply

Interestingly no female angels appear in the bible- they are all males, but humans equate the word to women for some misled reason.

reply

It's not a documentary on robotics, it's entertainment. What I'm asking myself while watching this is, why not a fully developed woman? Seeing that the majority of men aren't pedophiles. Then I realised this is the same director as Leon.
