European 'terrorists'? This is getting ridiculous

Why were the terrorists white Caucasian Europeans? What reason they had to hate the greatest country in the World? And why would they want to nuke L.A.?

Oh, wait - i figured it out! THEY WERE MOVIE FANS TIRED OF HOLLYWOOD CRAP! I can totally understand that!

If they'd be arabs someone could get hurt.

Yes, I noticed that the "terrorists" were speaking in British accents, German, Italian, Spanish and Croatian. (two of the scientists arming the bomb appeared to be speaking Korean (which would make sense if they were implying that North Korean Nuke scientists were helping them)) but I figured if they tried hard enough they could work in Dutch, Swedish, Portugese and Norwegian! LOL!!!!! hahaha.

They were the E.U. Terrorist Squad!!!! Angry at the US for screwing up the world's economy! HAHHAHA.

Actually I think they were going for that Baader-Meinhoff gang vibe, but those 'red army' marxist revolutionaries from the 1960s and early 1970s are just so dated now.

Hollywood has to be politically correct, even though right now, the most danger in the post 9/11 world is from Islamic Extremism (London, Madrid, Bali, Mumbai, need I go on?)

And why not? Arabs didn't invent terrorism. You should go to the 24 board.

Well Arabs are an ethnicity (there are Christian Arabs ya know). MUSLIMS are a religion. And YES, Militant Islamists are the scourge of the world RIGHT NOW. Militant Muslims (versus those that work, pray and try to live a good life) single handedly murder more people EVERY DAY than any other group has in YEARS.

The O.P. is correct in pointing out how Politically Correct Hollywood is. In the book "Sum of all Fears' the terrorists were Muslims. In the movie they were 'Global Neo Nazis' like some sort of ridiculous James Bond nemesis organization. WTF? Why did they change it? Because they are afraid of being targeted for death (just like a Danish Cartoonist might)? I don't see ANY OTHER extremist group rioting and murdering over 'perceived' insults.

Pretty much the rest of the world thinks pretty bad about this arrogant country full of bumb asses so it makes complete sense for the terrorists to come out from all over the world. I don't see the issue.

Terrorists are not exclusive to the Muslim world. You've been watching too many episodes of 24 and watching too much Fixed Noise.
The terrorists could have been from Greenland, Scotland, or hell even the U.S. (McVeigh ring a bell???) Where the terrorists were from was irrelevant to this movie.

Dude means nice guy. Dude means a regular sort of person.

arab terrorism is getting old... I think us Europeans need to do some reclaiming on that field.

reply

Neat idea, let's form the Metric Conversion Act of 1975 Brigades so that Hollywood can get something new to write about.

We start by secretly switching rulers with metric ones in US office supply stores and watch society collapse. Then we put A4 paper in all US printers/photocopy machines and enjoy the ensuing chaos. Muahahahah.

I found it kinda funny and spit my coke in the cinema when the sniper missed cage and hit the tree "picku mater!"
Yea right. Put a serbian in there kids. how random. after that I was waiting the whole time for a swiss banker..

I think what the O.P. was getting at is that the terrorists in the film are from all over Europe, rather than from a particular country/area of the continent. I'm pretty sure he/she wasn't suggesting that all terrorists in films should be Arabs, as you'd see if you read the post properly. As a Brit myself I can see how bizarre the idea of terrorists from all these countries working together would be. Though I suppose they could all just be from London.

So in your warped mind, America is 'arrogant' so it's okay for terrorists to come here and kill innocent people, subarulz? Just wanted to make that clear so people could see what type of person you are.......

The terrorists in Die Hard were German.
I didn't hear anyone complain.

No-one complained because Hollywood didn't know what terrorists were back in the mid-80s. America had very, very little experience with terrorists when 'Die Hard' was produced. You can hardly compare that to a film made post 9/11 where we all know the most predominate threat to the West is Islamic extremists. Pretending otherwise is just PC.

The terrorists in Die Hard weren't terrorists. They were ex-terrorist robbers. Oh, and it was a long time ago, when former euro commies (RAF, etc.) guys made sense to be laying around bored and ready to get a nest egg with their skills.

Random Let's Nuke L.A. guys need more reason than Just Cause We Say So.

i guess you dont know that middle eastern terrorists are caucasion aswell. if you research what a caucasion is you would find out that all middle easterns are considered caucasion

reply

We are Brown. I don't know if Caucasian describes us. But I know we are not Aryan. There are some similarities between us and Persians, who are Aryan but not strictly "White". We are also distinct from other Brown races such as subcontinental Indians.
