I don't even think this is dystopian. I think it is utopian, they got rid of all the bad stuff and were fine, Jonas was foolish to bring it back! Yay war and suffering. And euthanising people isn't that bad compared to all the stuff we do now.

It's an old conundrum. How can anyone be said to be good if they have no choice but to be good?

That's the rub in A Clockwork Orange: a true dystopian future.

Mine would be Demolition Man which also wants to create a "utopian" society.

I do think both that film and this one criticize the liberal nanny state and socialism adn the idea that the elite knows best and that people can't make their own choices.

Although I don't consider Aeon Flux to be a terrible movie it wasn't that great either. The characters and story always struck me as better served animated and in short bursts rather than one movie-length storyline. And the action didn't live up to the original story, Equilibrium did a better job of that sort of thing.
