The Very Worst Movie Of The Past Two Years (at least) !!
For the past eight years I have watched about 25 movies per week, or 1,300 every year.
In my opinion, this was one of the very worst.

I am NOT from west coast Florida, I do NOT know anyone involved, I did NOT recently graduate, but I have seen about 200 movies in the past three months. This movie was one of the worst four of those 200.
I agree. There was a gigantic plot hole in the premis of this movie and the resolution was bad.
Not as bad as Vampire Academy though. That is the worst teen movie I've seen yet.
Jazzbruce: Don't try to keep up with explaining yourself to the haters, it is a waste of time. Think about the irony: those who love the movie hate you and your opinion! Isn't truth and feelings and difference of opinion what The Giver was all about? I recently stated my opinion about a TV show I didn't like and got hatefully attacked; only one person came to my defense. So I'm doing the same for you.
I disagree with you but we both have a valid opinion. If you watch as many movies as you say, then you obviously have some experience in judging movies! Thanks for sharing; sorry you had to have so many people express their disagreement with you in a hateful way.
Peace
WOW, after all these years someone was really nice to me and ran defense. Thank you "thecrafts". As you mentioned, my viewing quantity is what made me feel that I could share a "relative" evaluation of quality. Thanks again.

Those are all worse.
Unlike you, I've seen only 1250 movies in all my life, and every day I find it harder to find a decent movie to watch that I haven't already watched. So there's no way The Giver, a fairly decent movie, is the worst movie you've seen in years.
Just as my opinion in mid 2014 was just that, my OPINION. Your blanket statement that the named 33 movies were all worse is also just opinion. And that is fine with me. Why does my opinion cause you such pain? Also, probably about 50% (I didn't actually check the percentage so please don't kill me) had not yet been released by mid 2014. Of the 33, I remember liking many of them much better than "The Giver". The reason in most cases was because movies like San Andreas, Napoleon Dynamite, Dumb and Dumber To, Norbit , etc., were not attempting to be a "serious" movie, just low-brow FUN. I do agree that most of the movies on your list are fairly poor, but they did not frustrate me as much as TG. Again, sorry to tick you off so much.

shareJazzBruce...go back to Jazz - it must have more meaning than we'll ever know in your vast mind which pales to all of ours.

You need a life.
Life is pain. Anyone who says differently is selling something.
