Would you have gone to mexico with Jim or stayed w the chica?

SHiiiit, that scene was played so well. Everyone acted perfect, I could imagine having to decide on bailing my woman (whom i just got back together with) for this nut case who wants to drive to mexico... wtf for? he already has a beautiful female who he can lay wood on, why does he need to go anywhere?

What would you have done? *beep* you jim, you go to mexico, I'm chillin with my girl.

Personally, I would've severed (or put them on hold until he sought help) my relations with a guy like Jim well before it got to the Mexico point. In any other case however, I would've acted like Mike.

I would have been with my woman. Screw Jim. He needed psychiatric help that his friends couldn't give him. Jim was a PSTD afflicted soldier who liked killing folks and wanted any excuse possible to prove how hardcore he really was. He didn't care about the safety of his friends, or possible retaliation from gangsters, or cops arresting or killing him. Worse, Jim didn't want to get any help for his problems. Jim saw getting help as admitting some sort of weakness to the world or something.

Guys like that are walking time bombs. They will eventually detonate and destroy everything in their path. Anyone who said that they would ride out with Jim knowing what they know about him would be taking their lives into their own hands. Hope you got some good life insurance. I would rather be with my wife, have a good job and start thinking about children.

to be honest jim is very scary, i wouldnt trust him behind the wheel. mike should have stayed home.

This has happened to me before. I call it "The test of friendship". I would have gone with Jim.

Mexico. No questions asked. I'll be back tomorrow... maybe.

The idea is to die young as late as possible.

Great question. That's what makes this one of my favorite movies. It's a split decision that you can argue either way. Your friends are outside waiting for you and you're like F' IT, I'm going.. I'll deal with the chick when I get back.

Well, there are several factors to consider. (SPOILERS)

1. Rodríguez's character helped out Longoria's character during college. The director also said that they met in junior high which would make the bond stronger. Plus, they have a nice house together which Longoria was leaving towards the end implying that Rodríguez owns it.

2. He already had sex with his girl and had a job secured. Everything she wanted, he did. For him to ditch his hombre was to let go of fun for a quiet night at home. Note that at this point, he had not seen Jim's problems and temper which shook up the black dude later.

3. His friend was already *beep* up. Had he lived, he would have eventually come back and caused havoc. I would have been scared when I saw him pointing the gun on his girl and then driving like that on the highway. That's when he knew that his fried was bad news.

4. His girl was the stable one. Regardless of how hot she is, he knew that she would stay and is already his wife. Her lack of assertiveness meant that even if she left, he could convince her later on.

I would have left with my buddy but only because I did not know any better.

Jesus, has this board suddenly been flooded by Redditors? "Well girls are beautiful but bros before hoes, man." Thank you, I'm glad to know that girls are just pieces of pussies to you. "They don't last." Not with that kind of attitude, they don't.

The situation is pretty clear. Eva Longoria's character isn't a control freak. She's genuinely worried for her boyfriend's safety, is afraid of his volatile friend, and is certain that everything is going to go to sh!t if they continue to hang out together (as it did). Jim, as every audience member can tell, is completely out of his mind. So the rational choice is to obviously get Jim to a psychiatric ward ASAP and stay with his girlfriend, since the other outcome is coming back blood-soaked from Mexico and running back into the arms of his girlfriend anyway.

This thread made me realize how many guys probably brought into the self-critical misogyny of the movie and appreciated the men for "acting like men," which is pretty sad. In fact, I'm not even sure how many people watched the same ending.

I'd have stayed behind. Especially if I had just landed a good job, and was back in the good graces of my lady friend, who, by the way, seemed to have a legitimate concern for my well-being.

Plus, personally speaking, if I was laying the pipe on Eva Longoria, I'd have said to Jim, "have fun in Mexico. I'm staying right where I am."

Logan, buddy. It's me, Deadpool! I shot youuuuuu....
