Sick of Nicki

I get it, they wanted to add some urban street smart femininity to the show. Fine. Whatever. But it's just bad. It's so inauthentic. "My boyfriend at the prom held up the flower store he got my corsage from." Yeah, I'm sure. It's almost as bad as Jessica Alba was in "Honey." I've been watching the show from the start, and I will continue to do so because I still like Charlie, but if she starts to say "frontin'" I'm taking it off my DVR!

Do I detect a bit of Bronx accent in her? In L.A.? Maybe that's why she seems so out of place there.

PLEASE take nikki off the show!!!!!!!! i cannot stand her! She is so annoying and whiny and if she has one more problem with FBI procedure im going to stick my hand in the tv and strangle her myself!( thats don and nikki, and thats nikki after im done with her) and yes i agree about the hair , i dont understand how she can be in a tactical situation and not be able to see past the nest on either side of her face. i swear if you look there are probably birds in there

Another prime example of why Nicki sucks was shown last night: That reaction after the car crash was just ridiculous and made me continually ask: "Why didn't they have her die in the crash?"
NO MORE NICKI, please!! Colby and Liz all the way!
And it's not only the character - the actress is bad, too and really ugly!

reply

Was it really necessary to add that personal attack on the actress? I get making comments about characters but the rest is just plain mean.

Well, that's the way I see it - I don't see what she does in Hollywood... She is neither good looking nor a good actress! It was just a statement of facts.
So, to answer your question: yes, I guess it was necessary.

The thing I hate the most about her character on the show is that one episode where Nikki was talking to Ray Wise's character and we find out that Nikki has political aspirations. Are you KIDDING me? She's basically a hood rat with absolutely no concept of diplomacy or propriety and she's planning on going into POLITICS? Dumbest thing they could have done for her character. It'd be one thing if she were actually trying to learn to fit into the world of these FBI agents, but all she does is turn up her nose at everything everyone's trying to teach her and give people attitude. Say what you will about politicians, but at the very least they all know how to cater to all different kinds of people and know how to assimilate into many different environments. Nikki doesn't adapt in different situations because she doesn't feel that she should have to. And, while that might be admirable in someone who's trying to build up "street cred" on the "mean streets of Compton," it's just plain dumb for someone who's claiming to have political career goals.

At first Nikki got on my nerves. I think it was that they tried to get this fiery round the way girl and insert her into a show with Jews and maths and crime. Then for some reason she grew on me and I love her. Especially when she's being randomly mean and completely unreasonable. I think it fits for her and it makes me love to hate to love her.

I started watching the show from season 5 and at first I hated Nikki...then I saw the show from season 1 and caught a few episodes with Megan and after hearing her voice and seeing her act I found a new appreciation for Nikki.

reply

LOL! I completely agree. Megan was... not a pretty girl. And she was kind of really abrasive, I don't know. I would take Nikki any day over her.

I like her and think her pretty. She really won me over in the episode about the missing gazillion-dollar sneakers. Nikki was talking to the woman who wanted to build her own shoe empire in her old neighbourhood (and I was so glad there wasn't a plot twist that made her the perp). Nikki said something like, "Your kicks could make you feel special in a neighbourhood of afterthoughts." No self-pity, just an intimate remark to someone who would understand. Way touching! And a great descriptive phrase for not-necessarily-wanted children. If I remember it rightly, this whole episode was a throwback to some of the gentler Numb3rs - minimal violence, no murders?

Right, Nikki's "random meanness" (made me smile)- refreshing to see on television.
