I have not seen the original John Carpenter film.
This film had many themes I enjoyed: ghost ship, paranormal, small coastal town, reincarnation.

The editing is a bit out of sorts at times, some shots are in a bizarre order, but not too many.

Despite that, the film was well put together, and I was never bored. Loved the flashbacks to the ship and it's crew.

This film does not have many fans, but I certainly am.

100% agree! This movie was just awful. It lacked everything the original had that made it awesome.

The original is one of my 10/10 horror movies. This version is utter crap.

This was a crap scary film. Not even Maggie Grace could save it.
