I'm 15 now, saw it in theaters when I was 12. I also feel in love with it. :D

I was 24 when the original film debuted in 1988. I am quite pleased to see so many "younguns" enjoying this film. While the original 1988 film has earned cult status, it was really only embraced by the gay community. Very happy to see this version accepted and loved by a mainstream audience from the start.

I am 37..and I saw the original one in 1988
I saw this newer one tonight for the fist time..I was pleasantly surprised. They almost kept it completely the same !

I watched hairspray EVERY day that it came on in 1988..

REALLY..I mean..REALLY ?!..

32. I'll be 33 soon.
I watched the original when I was younger. My mom had it recorded on VHS. I remember dancing it to. When the remake came out, I was actually excited (but skeptical) for it because Waters was working on it. After watching it, I loved it. I was pleasantly surprised because a lot of remakes just aren't good.

Well I was 9 when I saw it in the theaters. Forgot about it until I was 16 when I rewatched the movie thinking it deserved another chance bc I was so young when I saw it everything went over my head. Glad I did, because it was much more enjoyable to watch in my teens.
