I also like 'The Way Home' and 'Memories of Murder', but I also like
Take Care of My Cat
and
A.F.R.I.K.A.
Both are slightly girly but still good.
Take Care of My Cat!!! i thought i was the only one ever to see it and love it...lol. yea.. sum of my faves:
Old Boy
Memories of Murder
Take Care of My Cat
My Sassy Girl
100 Days w/ Mr. Arrogant
Arahan
and recently, Bin Jib
My Sassy Girl (simply wonderful;highly recommended)
Bichunmoo (I have watched this 5 times,great/tragic shakespear-ish story of love)
Taekguki (Highly recommended)
Oldboy (must see)
1, Memories of Murder
2, Bad Guy
3, 3-iron
4, A tale of two sisters
5, Oldboy
6, My wife is a gangster
Oldboy, Lady Vengeance, The Host, Bin-jip, Tale of Two Sisters, and Sympathy for Mr Vengeance, which didn't blow me away like the other five did. It's a sad day for Hollywood when almost every single great movie of the 00s has been Korean.
Judge me based on my movie taste!

other than the one's mentioned so far which are all good (although a bit feminin. are all of you chicks?).

I will add some more than above.
'Barking Dogs never bite'
'Oasis'
'Peppermint Candy'
'Shiri' - I personally like this movie more than 'Taegukgi'
'One Fine Spring Day'
'Christmas in August'
'J.S.A.'
And I think I will add 'The Host' to this list after seeing it
^^
Since I started watching Asian films I've been making a list of them all. Then after the film I will put a star after it if I really liked it.

All of which I loved and gave a 10/10 imdb rating.
I caught some of a S.Korean film once during a Korean Airways flight (between UK and Australia); I can't remember the name but it was about a girl whose mother leaves her at a Zoo to get ice-cream/candy floss and never returns so she grows up as an orphan. As an adult she teams up with an unemployed author (or something like that) and they get into variuos scrapes.
I only watched about 20 minutes of it - I had already missed the start plus I couldn't really concentrate with all the usual hubbub you get on board a plane. Does this film sound familiar to anyone and would you recommend that I try to get it on DVD?
Also, does anyone else find that there is a strong undercurrent of pessimism that runs through S.Korean films?

Amazing films, though most of them are really hard to find, well where i live anyways(minnesota), but if you get the chance, try to see all of them. (lot of them are indeed comedy romances, but even if your a guy like me, you'll enjoy them for what they are, entertainment.)
im ina park chan wook phase kinda thing right now
Mucho appreciateing old boy and the vengence triligy.
Dont know why its a triligy but the films r awsome.
But i think ima fall back into kurasawa pretty soon
I'm pretty new to Korean cinema, but My Sassy Girl and Bin-Jip are my favorites as of now! Oldboy is also really good, and I've seen another movie, The Uninvited, which I did not understand. There was another one I have seen, Uri hyeong, liked it too somewhat, but it had a very conventional story.
