Would he have killed her if...?

I was just wondering if Jackson would have killed Lisa if everything goes according to the plan, or he really would have let her walk away as he said? I mean, she knows quite a lot, and usually victims or eyewitnesses are not recommended to be kept alive. But still, we know he never lies.
What you think?

I dont think he would have killed her. Would have been to suspicious. She doesn't know anything about him. Jack Ripner probably isn't even his name. She would be thrown in prison for assassinating the Keefe.

He most likely would've killed her even if everything had gone as planned. People like that are very cold, calculating, and manipulative. And they don't want any witnesses to link them to their crimes.

Money isn't the root of all evil. Love of money is.

Yes he would have killed her. From his perspective killing her is the logical choice to prevent the possibility of her going to the police. Even though he said she would walk away, he didn't strike me as the most trustworthy guy.

She probably doesnt know anything about him,I mean he is smart enough to set up a whole story about his name, his parents.I think he wouldn't have tried to kill her if she wouldn't have stabbed him in the throat.

He absolutely would have killed her. And her father.

I've seen enough thrillers to know that the bad guy doesn't just "walk away". Cillian Murphy's character was a professional. He followed her for weeks, found out everything there is to know about her, even down to her favorite drink. He also said he just did his business and moved on. Guys like him don't worry about what's right or what's moral. They do what they're paid to do and then they cover their tracks, leave no loose ties, no witnesses.

With this in mind, it's hard to see any other outcome other than Murphy's character breaking his "promise" and killing Lisa and her dad.

reply

He didn't need to kill her if she does her part. He and his comrades obviously know who she is, where she works, where her Dad lives, so she keeps her mouth shut or else.

reply

I'm surprised people think he wouldn't kill her. She's a loose end, so why not just kill her. Her father doesn't know anything nor does the hotel. I think he definitely would of.

reply

I think she was meant to take the fall.

Kill her? Probably. She's the one eyewitness to the crime, and can provide a description of Jack to the FBI, Interpol etc.

Kill her father? Probably not. What would be the point? Threatening her dad's life was just leverage to make her play along. After the job was done, her father would be irrelevant. Had things gone according to plan he never would have seen Jack or his assassin buddy, or known anything was amiss at all. And killing him would just leave more of a trail to cover up.

In fact, when you think about it, there was no reason for the assassin outside the house to be there at all. Jack repeatedly told Lisa there was someone waiting to kill her dad, but never showed her any proof of this (other than the wallet, which he could just as well have stolen himself). She just took his word for it, so the guy didn't actually have to be there for the threat to be effective.

Two words: loose ends.

She saw his face, thus can ID him. She was as dead as a hostage whom catches a glimpse of their kidnapper's face.
