This is the only film in the series...
...That actually has a TEXAS CHAINSAW MASSACRE.
"See it with someone you love...Go by yourself"

Mine as well. TCM the beginning is a brutal bloody masterpiece and R. Lee Ermy is evil perfection in it.
That being said my second favorite is the new one TCM 3d, i just liked the whole "anti hero" version of Leatherface and Burt Hartman was a cool villain.
Nice to see another person who loves Beginning :) And yeah, R. Lee was great, but I think Taylor Handley and Matt Bomer were the standouts! I've cared more about Dean and Eric than I have for most slasher victims in the past decade. Especially Dean <3
TC3D was enjoyable, but it's my 2nd least favorite. (Ahead of 2) I hated the "anti-hero" thing; the writers are idiots! How is a family that eats and kills teenagers supposed to be remotely sympathetic!? HOW was that lynch mob WORSE than a group of people that murder innocents!? Why were all the characters so annoying and unlikeable (minus Heather and Kenny)!?!?! UGH!

That's why the new one is just called "Texas Chainsaw", to prevent people like you from bitching around the internet about the title of the movie.
shareWhich caused TONS OF PEOPLE to come on the internet and bitch about the new title

TCM the beginning is great and bloody! one of the better entries in the series
Snootchie Bootchie
Actually, I believe the truth is that you're using a definition of MASSACRE that only a few, including you, believe applies.

This is one of my least favorite. One reason is I found it focuses too much on gore and violence. Actually having a "chainsaw massacre" is but a small part of the big picture.

It's OK. Lots of movies have titles like that. In I Spit On Your Grave, nobody spits on even one grave for the entire movie. In Children Shouldn't Play With Dead Things, I don't remember one child character in the entire film; only adults. In Let's Scare Jessica To Death, Jessica lives. Friday the 13th: The Final Chapter is only the 4th out of 12, etc. The list goes on and on...
I've been waiting for you, Ben.
It's also the only one in the series where all of the main characters die and no one gets away ( i.e. Sally in the original, Stretch in 2, the white girl and black guy in 3, Renee Zellweger's character in 4, Erin in the remake, and the annoying cousin in Texas Chainsaw).
