Did you actually laugh once???

I watched the entire movie, unfortunately, and I did not even laugh once. I am so mad they made it PG and ruined the whole tone and atmosphere that the first one had. It made no sense that they would go in that direction. Bruce Almighty was excellent, this was garbage. BA had very clever humor in it when they would stick some theology in there, this one had none. I feel bad Steve Carrell had his name on this.

The sequel was aimed at a family audience. The original was morre adult-roiented, and frankly, lacking something. I can see where this might have been an expensive undertaking, and I must admit I rarely laughed myself. Although some of the goofier moments, like Carell attempting to shave and trying not to wear that sackcloth, kept me amused. This was a kiddie movie, face it. That doesn't make it a complete failure. It's a good one to trot out for the holidays.

I actually liked this movie more than Bruce Almighty. I was happy with it being more family oriented. It was about a family... I thought it was funny and had very good lessons.

"Will, I told you...If you live with a hetero long enough...You're going to catch it."

That's why I didn't watch Bruce Almighty because I saw a preview where a girl's skirt gets blown into the air. Hollywood sewage at its best. I'm a Christian and eventhough Evan Almighty wasn't a blockbuster, it was still funny and touching. A breath of fresh air to the typical flagitious junk released these days.

So true. He's not funny so how could this piece of garbage be funny. Terrible movie.

"Hi Lloyd. A little slow tonight, isn't it?"

I don't know, I just about peed myself watching "The Forty Year Old Virgin", and some of his torture scenes in Bruce Almighty.

I guess it's just a matter of taste. I find him funny and you don't...

I thought Bruce Almighty was very patchy until Bruce gets his powers. The dog joke in BA is overdone as well.

Evan Almighty is a surprisingly different film, the humour is less cruel, and sans Jim Carrey. In fact, it's a completely different sense of humour IMHO. It's a bit more whimsical, I enjoyed the notion of all the animals turning up at his house and following him around, his hair and clothing being OT (or OTT?) etc.

EA's more of a family film, BA tends to be more of a film for adults - Jennifer Aniston having her "pleasure" for example.
