Is LOST the greatest television series of all times?

Thoughts?

So a meh episode of Lost is better than a meh episode of Breaking Bad and this is your justification for saying Lost is the greatest TV series?

reply

You can say Lost is better than BB in general. But no, Stranger in a Strange Land is not better than Face Off and you know it.

Don't be a fool. Face Off is one of the greatest TV episodes of all "times".

All a matter of opinion, of course. But I would put Face Off among the top five of all Breaking Bad episodes.

As much as I hated Hector and cheered when his family died at the pool party, I admit to rolling on the floor during Face Off when he called a meeting with Hank Schrader just so he could slowly spell out "Suck my ___" and "Fv.ck ____"

I'm so ashamed. I discussed a 5 minute, non-conclusion sequence from a TV show that aired in 2011. The world is coming to an end for Bahrazz_Araz. He can never watch Breaking Bad again and its my fault! Though its funny...he said he'd already seen that episode....

I don't know, Salem looks like it might give Lost a run for its money if it becomes multi-seasonal...

I don't know if you're aware of this but I've already changed things. I killed Ben Linus.

Some fans say it's the best show ever. In the long history of television, many shows have come and gone. None can hold a candle to the king of them all.

Some say there never will be a better show. Lost is the pinnacle. Television has achieved its purpose. It has reached its peak. The Post-Television Age has begun, because nothing will ever be better than Lost.

Some say Lost tells the best story ever. You won't find a better story in television or cinema, nor will you find a better story anywhere in all of the literature that has ever been written, and all of the stories that have ever been told, or ever will be told in the history of the universe.

reply

For me it is. Nothing comes close.

JJ didnt even write the show though. He came up with the premise and the pilot

reply

I was under the impression that he did write for the show. Which would explain it's popularity. He also came up with the premise, if not wrote for, another show I was fond of called Terra Nova. I only wish it would have lasted more than one season.

reply

Terra Nova was fun but badly written.

reply

So was Xena, Warrior Princess. But that lasted 6 seasons. Who says we can't have kitsch programming.

reply

No. Not even Top 10. Lost had an excellent first season. Not quite as good as Veronica Mars, which aired the same year, but still quite excellent. Once the hatch opened, things went downhill pretty fast in terms of the writing, but that first season was definitely great stuff.

reply

Lol.....What you weren't joking?

reply

This is the right answer

reply

Well, Growing Pains had a character named 'Boner', so that instantly puts it ahead of LOST.

Ariaga, Ariaga II, Bariaga, Aruglia, and Pizozza!

For me it is, despite all of its flaws. No show reached the heights that Lost did.

Best network show of all time for sure. But it is hard to put this show above some of the great cable shows like The Wire, Sopranos, Rome, and maybe Boardwalk Empire (it isn't done so holding out judgement). These are just the ones that come to mind and I'm excluding sitcoms and mini-series.

reply

Agreed. Best network drama of all time. I made a thread about it right after the show ended, very entertaining thread :D
