I love this movie and would love to find more that have the same indie kind of feel to it...like Donnie Darko or The Quiet. Anyone have any suggestions? I know about ghostworld and like tart, and little miss sunshine. Any others?

Reminded me a lot of Donnie Darko and Brick, and I'd say it'd appeal to the same people that those two appeal to.
It's also a little similar to Little Children, American Beauty and Towelhead, but a big step below those three.

A lot of people are just mentioning films they like that they think are close, like I wouldn't really say requiem for a dream was a lot like this except for the obvious issue of drugs.

Rules of Attraction (got some annoying actors in but it's pretty much the same)

Sleepwalker - I wasn't really into this but you could watch it and see.
Eternal Sunshines of the Spotless Mind - is a more mainstream one if you don't wanna venture to much into independant films.
Saw someone mentioned Elephant I don't really see the similarity to this film but you would probably still like it.

shareIf you really want to watch something that resembles "The Chumscrubber" watch the television series Weeds starring Mary-Louise Parker. It has many of the same themes. It is the closest you are going to get.
