Did we run out of American actors?

The film was OK, started out very good and then got a little boring. My biggest thorn, however, was that 3 of the top 4 actors were born in England. So, instead of an American doing a southern accent, you have 3 UK'ers doing it and it is very unconvincing. I can barely do a Brit accent, I can't imagine trying to convice someone of a cockney (sp?) accent on top of that.

Oh yeah, the movie... well, it was just OK.

I'll file this under "petty bitching" and move forward.

The point of acting is to portray someone you are not. That's what allows someone like Daniel Day-Lewis, a Brit, to play Lincoln. Not only am I okay with the actors being English, I want more of them. It represents a challenge in their field of work, it's quite a leap to go from a posh London accent to a southern American one, and do it convincingly. Actors should not be bound to portray characters that are virtually like them; otherwise they would not be acting.

I know I'm 9 years late here, but I had to sign in and comment. Hopefully you will see this one day.
