These are the sort of things which existance won't affect the relationship, but its confession might give the wrong impression. Virginity is one of those things as well. If there's no need to tell her you're a virgin, why you should?
If a woman likes him enough to be his girlfriend in the first place, I hardly think she'll run away screaming if he tells her such a harmless, inoffensive thing as that. If anything, she'll probably be glad he told her, and would be more than happy to help him out.
On the other hand, if she's somebody that he's attracted to, but isn't dating her, or doesn't know her well enough to be able to talk about their personal lives in explicit detail, it's probably best not to bring it up.

Probably be quiet about it. This movie kind of over exaggerates it a bit. I hear the proper thing for people to say to someone is to say you are "inexperienced" rather than saying you've never done it at all if you are nervous about screwing up.
