I finally saw the movie 2 weeks ago.

shareYea, I was just thinking the same myself. She was in alot of good movies in the mid 2000s (can people please stop calling them the "naughties"?) She was in The Prestige and Scoop after this as well. But she caught the "I want to star in a superhero franchise" bug - that Halle Berry also caught - and tried The Spirit and then she whored herself to get the role in the Avengers movie. Not sure why, as she doesn't need the cash, but more cash is better I suppose?
shareI think she's awesome as Black Widow, and I keep hoping Netflix figures out a way to do a Black Widow miniseries. Because Black Widow doesn't need huge explody set pieces - it should be a quiet, low-key drama.
And I really like to believe that if Netflix put it together right, that Ms. Johanssen would take a lower paycheck for the sake of the character. Her other work suggests she's as interested in the art of acting as the money.

shareI know what you mean. Sharon Stone was my top 'Hollywood sex symbol' for years. Maybe it was just her roles (and/or good a good publicity agent) but I got the sense that Sharon Stone didn't just play some sexy character in a role but brought that aura to the screen because she was basically a horny woman off screen. And that's a good thing :)
