Was the fact that they even served bacon in the canteen? Theses people are supposed to be kept in utmost tip top shape, they would never be given bacon.
shareBacon, at least the anticipation of it, would be very stimulating to the brain of people who have it held just out of arms (or taste buds) reach most of the time. Isn't the point of the 'colony' to keep the clones stimulated?

shareBacon is not bad for you. Too much bacon with too many nitrates cooked too much is not good at all, but bacon is really not bad. When people burned up all that energy on the farm, that's why they ate it. Plus ... it's been a while since I saw the movie ... are you sure it was real bacon or fake soy bacon?

And, as we know, bacon is the way to happiness. It makes perfect sense... but, as with everything, do it in moderations, and you will be fine - especially if you're otherwise a healthy specimen. No, the bacon thing is not wrong.
They might not serve bacon to the group people,but have it there when the staff people come to eat. The lady cook might know it is a treat and would give it out to special people housed there she liked.
