Is it me, or is this movie basically Logan's Run? Live a few years in perfect harmony and go on Carousel I mean to the Island. Unless you and Jessica escape and eventually free all of the others? The only real difference is the organ harvesting/child bearing aspect. Still enjoyed it though. Love Steve Buscemi!

One guy questions the status quo. A triggering event/senerio causes him to run. He takes a female companion. They get chased. There is even sexual chemistry between the two. They discover the truth and go back to free the others. They all head to freedom in the end under explosions and destruction. Accompanied by a glorious soundtrack.

While it does have some similarity to Logan's Run, it's more of a remake of 'The Clonus Horror'. It's plot is basically identical.

The Island is like 2 movies glued together. The first part is almost identical to The Clonus Horror, the second part is almost identical to Logan's Run. This was discussed a lot back in 2005 when this movie was in theaters.

Nothing original under the sun! Well maybe there are some totally original ideas but some of them are really crappy. Lots of stories are another imagining by someone of the same "what if?"s. I'd prefer this kind of remake to 'let's do a remake/sequel of what we just did', like all the superman/spiderman/batman movies. But obviously many people like those too. Just keep 'em coming! :)
