From people who like this film: What was the deal with The Pin's mother?

She was serving orange juice and cereal to Brendan in what appeared to be a very bizarre environment happening right under her nose in her home. What was up with that?

My advice would be to stop taking the movie so literally.

"I wish I could turn into a morphing ball and roll to the bathroom from here."

I kind of thought it was to highlight the fact that a lot of parents genuinely don't realize the kind of stuff their kids get up to. Or else to show that the Pin is actually so small time that he still lives with his mom, that all of this only seems big time in the minds of high school kids. Or else that the Pin uses this as a cover, to keep a low profile.

I just thought it was a bit of light comic relief; following the serious nature of Brendan's encounters with The Pin, it provided a stark, humorous contrast.

To me it somewhat paralleled Hyman Roth's wife in "The Godfather: Part II" who is (or acts?) oblivious to the fact that her husband is one of the richest most powerful Jews of the U.S. underworld and offers to make Michael Corleone a tuna sandwich as if he's just a neighbor dropping by to watch the football game with her husband.

Nah I knew people who dealt drugs in high school, and they would rent the house to their own mother and their mother lived with them. They actually owned it though.

Some *beep* up parents out there man or just totally naive.

reply

Single mothers, basically criminal breeding factories.

Wow.

Witty closing remarks have been replaced by massive head trauma and severe hemorrhaging.

I thought that was the best scene in the movie! I laughed out loud.

Pin's Mom was hot. Total MILF.

its a bar scene, but since the whole adult-underworld movie is transposed into teen/highschool world, the bartender was mom, the bar was their home. just like the vice principal is acting like a head detective. its odd, i think its original, and its almost funny.

I like that idea, ranier. 
