Cameron's Best Work?

I'm not a fan of Cameron Diaz, but I have to be honest that I think she did a fantastic job in this movie. She makes such a transition from the start to finish (from drunk and hooking up in a bathroom to actually being responsible and more mature). And I believed the entire transition. (Both actresses were excellent in this movie).

Anyone else think this was actually her best work? I've often thought she was a bad actress, but here I think she nailed it.

Not a huge fan but thought she was very good in this, maybe the best I've seen her in.

Yep. Every time I watch this movie I think the same thing. I am definitely not a Cameron Diaz fan, but she is good in this movie. I think her and Toni Collette worked perfectly as sisters. I don't think Cameron will ever be more enjoyable than in "In Her Shoes".

Watch The Holiday, all 4 acting leads are very good. And Cameron looks pretty.

I agree with the high praise from most of the posters in this thread. Unlike many of the posters, though, I always liked her. But she definitely raised the bar with this performance, perfectly modulating the character's believable transformation. (Mildest of spoilers here) Who wouldn't be moved by her reading of the poem at the end of the film especially given her reading struggle portrayed earlier?

I don't remember how much I liked Cameron Diaz before this movie, but I know that ever since I have loved her. Not only is she unbelievably stunningly gorgeous in this movie, but she's also perfect for the role. Maybe a bit too bitchy initially in Florida but that's the character.

She outdid it only 9 years later with bad teacher.
