Plato's Reality Machine from 2015 is similar - a series of philosophical vignettes. But the characters are connected in ways that are revealed as at the film progresses, and the film also involves a video game storyline. It has a similar vibe to Coffee and Cigarettes, and was in part inspired by it.

'My Dinner with Andre." Wallace Shawn got his start in it. It was actually more interesting, at least I thought so when I saw it. I did like this one, especially the many cameos.
