At the time Crash was made, it was one of the greatest films out there. 2004? 2005? Need I remind you the "menu" of movies between 2000-2010 contained comedies, rom-coms and brainless action movies, all filled with unrealistic happy endings? By comparison, Crash shines. I liked the coincidences, because I'm looking for a movie to entertain me otherwise I'd watch a documentary. Also, there are several layers here: how everyone is only human is one of them. They all make mistakes, some find redemption, some dont. Another layer: racism. Another layer: how the system works.
Its not the happy end storyline, its lives intertwined in moments at random. Also, the cinematogeaphy and score are magnificent for a movie made 18 years ago. Seeing as you consider yourself intellectually superior, I would be curious how does the intelectual superiority co-habit with the opinion that Crash is mediocre while comparing it with other movies released at the same time.
