TDK is definitely the better movie. You have one of the best villains of all time in The Joker, and a tragic character like Harvey Dent thrown in the middle. I love that it ends on a bittersweet tone, too... Makes it feel more like a real drama.

The Dark Knight! Hands down in my opinion. It would have been perfection if Katie Holmes had returned as Rachel. I'm not a big Maggie Gyllenhall (sp?) fan.
