I love this movie, but one scene truly boggles my mind.

In the club shootout scene where Vincent has to kill his target. Fanning finds Max and attempts to escort him out of the club while Vincent is busy killing the bodyguards as well as his target. In my mind I thought, well seems like Max finally gets a break and escapes from Vincent. Then when they finally get out, all of a sudden, bang! Tom Cruise just comes out of no where and kills the cop.

In my mind, I thought, how the **** did Vincent get in front of them so damn fast?! It's like he teleported at the taxi door when Fanning and Max got a head start. Am I the only one who thought this? I honestly thought it was a bit much, like some sort of obvious plot device. I mean, I get that Vincent moves with a purpose and moves aggressively through a crowd, but still....

What do you guys think?

It's that magical transporter that finds itself in many films. Doubt there was really any way for Cruise to be out of the club before Foxx, but he is. I kind of forgive it because it's there to help emphasise that no matter what Foxx does, he can't get away from this guy.

Michael Mann does this throughout most of his crime movies where there's a convenient plot point to move the story along.

I like his movie "Heat" but there are too many instances where he applies a luck or expertise factor into his main characters that allows them to move forward in the movie. The whole Waingro scenario that ends up biting Neil's crew in the ass and sabotages his last big score or the convenient plot point that Benny (Henry Rollins) was an informant for Hannah's department this whole time and decided to rat out the bank heist on Neil (per the info extorted out of Trejo) were two major plot devices that I thought lacked depth and brevity. The reason I had issue with the whole Benny/informant is because he worked for a major drug cartel outfit that was laundering hundreds of millions under the government's nose and Hannah keeps that under wraps for his other agendas? Right!
