but since they doing Flashpoint i imagine Keanu will probably end up returning in the DCU possibly interacting with Keaton, Cavil etc

It's too late for that. Right now a sequel would be filled with woke politics.

Back in 2005, that sequel would have been awesome. No politics, just good old stories of angels vs devils with humans being the collateral damage in the battleground. The time has passed and Hollywood is not what it used to be.
