I know that the original choice of Mrs Smith was Aishwayra Rai. Later Nicole signed on and after her leaving the project Brad dropped out too.
What do you think? Would they have made a good on-screen couple? Personally I would have loved to see them together.

shareNo, I can't see it either. Nicole and Brad? She just doesn't seem like a Jane. I can def. see Nicole in a trained assassin role, but not an assassin with a passionate romance with her husband. That was just a Brad/Angelina thing. Their chemistry made it work.
I honestly see Nicole and Brad as relatives or something. Angelina was what I imagined as a Jane. She has the perfect body and persona.

Cant believe people are debating whether one or both these two should have been another. This movie was made for there two and this thread to me is nonsense
shareI can see it. But Nicole would have been cooler and more subtle with her sexuality. The more fantastical elements of the film probably wouldn't have seemed so over the top with her, since she has a gravity that Angelina doesn't have.
shareThere were so many people that were in talks for this movie. Johnny Depp, Nicole Kidman, Catherine Zeta-Jones, Gwen Stefani are just a few.
But the way it turned out was the best possible couple. Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie; does it get any better than that? Plus if they hadn't done this movie together, they probably wouldn't have ended up together. Hollywood without Brangelina? I think not.
Shoulda woulda coulda. Blah blah...Despite being an average albeit VERY fun action movie. Brad and Angelina had such intense chemistry it's almost uncomfortable. =D People are still always tripping and saying that she stole him and he cheated and blah blah. But as cute as he was with Jen, you can easily see just from their chemistry in this movie that these 2 are soulmates. =D

Nicole Kidman was always the first choice, and had to drop out as it languished in development for years. Gwyneth Paltrow was the next choice, her history with Pitt probably caused reservations for all involved. Jolie stepped in much later. I'm sort of curious why Aniston was never considered, it would have been a great vehicle for the then power couple and Aniston is in better shape than most half her age. Even if the divorce was inevitable, this above average action pic would not be forever associated with the scandal.
