People that hate this film are republican, anti-blue state turds
That is all.
shareWell, since we are including politics, it seems pretty standard for a liberal "coexist" type family to be accepting of anyone but people who don't find their beliefs in que.
I'm a republican, and I liked the movie, but I understand that the Stone has families prejudices. Dealt with it, and took the overall meaning of the movie to be about family.

I think it's refreshing that some of the folks in this thread are democrat and dislike the film and some are republican and like it. Kind of blows the theory that people who hate it are "republican anti-blue state turds" 'which in turn would suggest that people who like it are
"democrat anti-red state turds"....although that probably wasn't what the original poster had in mind when she made her generalization.
No reason people can't judge a film without constantly bringing their own personal politics into it. I've personally both liked and disliked at one time or another both films that could be labeled as either right or left.
Why is it so refreshing? The op just used this board as an excuse to take a quick cheapshot at people she disagrees with politically and didn't even explain her reasoning. It didn't even deserve a response, much less be taken seriously with people describing their political views.
shareApparently it isn't to you. To me it's very nice to see people can judge a movie without bringing their own personal politics into it, I have a feeling the original poster can't do that.
You're right though, it really didn't deserve a response to begin with. Just another example in a long line on imdb of a ridiculous thread being started and the original poster never being heard from again.
It's nice but I just didn't see how liking or disliking this movie has anything to do with politics to begin with.
shareActually, I forgot all about this post until I just recently went through my iMDB history. The reason I brought politics into it, is because there were a lot of threads on this board with people using political reasoning (not to mention offensive language) to justify why they hated this movie. First of all, who said they were this giant liberal (by the way, not a bad thing to be) family to begin with? Because they had a gay son with a black boyfriend? No. They were a dysfunctional, yet loving family.
I was angry at what I was reading and made a bold statement. Get the gas chamber ready.
At least you explained yourself now. But it was nothing but a pathetic hit and run cheap shot at all who have a different point of view than yours so it deserved to be criticized.
shareFine. You've made your point. Thanks.
shareI'm a Republican and I see the movie for what it is. A Movie made to entertain no politics involved. I love the movie and watch it several times every Christmas holiday. But since politics is the theme of this topic it does seem weird that so many posters that say they are a democrat talk about fictional characters with such deep rooted hatred. Which I find comical. People relax its just a movie.
shareThis should be called "how the liberals wished the world was"
