I mean Shelby was the hottest thing in there. Sam is ok, but she can't compare with Shelby at all.

i think sam is gorgeous, and way better than shelby in every way- especially in her heart and mind (which, despite shallow people's beliefs, is much more important). but that's just me.

Who care if Shelby is hot. Look what she did to Austin she total embarrass in front of everyone. An look what she did to Carter at the masquerade ball. She totally made out with him.Then when she found out who he was she totally act like she was sick and didn't know what she was doing. Then after the commercial she try to hook up with Carter but he wouldn't have it because he found a new girlfriend.

Austin was examining Shelby's horrible personality and Sam's wonderful personality. He was not as shallow as his friends.

Shelby was only interesting because she was so unpleasant. Sam was interesting when she opened up.

He was not stupid to dump Shelby, she was an airhead who only cared about herself, she was no match for him, Sam and Austin had a deeper connection which went way beyond looks alone, sure Shelby was pretty but that was all she was just a pretty face, to Austin, Sam was everything he was looking for she was smart, selfless, she never cared what other people thought of her and she gave him the courage to finally stand up to his dad and to follow his own dreams and not his dads. He fell for her for these reasons not because she was beautiful, so all in all dumping Shelby was the smartest thing he ever did!!!
