Erica crying montage was ridiculous...

Especially that one scene where she was sleeping, woke up, and then INSTANTLY started bawling. That was just over the top.

The bawling was over the top anyway. Maybe they were trying to make it funny, but for me it was just hard to watch. Sobbing would have been more realistic than overdone, theatrical bawling.

I too thought it was ridiculously over the top but I guessed it was supposed to have been.
It was even more ridiculous that it was over Harry/Jack.

I swear it must be in Diane Keaton's contract to either have to scream or sob in every movie. The montage scene is ff worthy.

Of course it was ridiculous. It was deliciously over the top ridiculous. But women (and girls) get ridiculous when they're suffering from a break up. I think the point was that it doesn't matter what age you are, your feelings are the same all your life. I always thought that was stupid but it's looking like it's true.

I think it's the best part of the film, and believe me, it's not all that far fetched, I've been at that point where I just felt like I would never stop crying.

There is ways a post on this board declaring that the crying bit is ridiculous, awful, unrealistic and so on. I have to say that it may not be realistic for everyone but for some it is. I have had one relationship where I did this myself! I did not WANT to be that way. I didn't enjoy it and it was totally out of character for me but it happened. Ick. I could totally relate to it.

It wasn't me who was murdered, was it?

It's one of my favorite scenes in one of my favorite movies LOL.

I think it's absolutely hilarious too! This is one movie that I still laugh at every time I watch it. With most movies people only laugh the first time they see it, but still think it's funny every time there after. No matter how many times I've seen it I laugh out loud.

I just seen this and thought that same thing. It was just stupid.

reply

I agree - love this movie except for that part. It was ridiculous.

reply

Yeah, I thought it was stupid. I supposed it was spouse to be funny- but I actually found it rather over the top and juvenile.

reply

Unfortunately it happens. When you love someone as much as she did and they seem to be playing with you....it hurts. Maybe it was a bit over the top, but hearts get broken. I know all too well.

reply

Waaaay over the top and not realistic at all.

reply

agree, it was awful. cringeworthy.
