No. He seemed like a reasonable guy but he played politics and not his conscience.
shareAs far as the film is concerned, Pilate does have sympathy for Jesus, possibly even a bit of empathy, but ultimately he is unable to see the forest for the trees and passes the buck instead of ruling justly.
A decision which most likely haunted him for the rest of his days.
And to answer your question, no, I don’t feel bad for Pilate.
No but mainly because the bible tells us he and King Herod became friends and Herod was an evil man.
