Ayo Edebiri ( https://www.imdb.com/name/nm8731249/ ) is being eyed to star as a character named Anne. They want a younger cast of pirates looking for a hidden treasure.

Amazing how they need toxic masculinity to build the franchise and hope the franchise foundation is strong enough to endure DEI casting and recasting.

We'll see how this plays out.

Don't get me wrong - two of my very favorite films are based on strong female leads - Gone With the Wind and The Sound of Music.
