Pandora's BOX!?
Pandora's Box Was Infact A Vase.
You Think They Would Have Researched That Seeing As They Done A Film About It!

What's even worse, it didn't contain a friggin doomsday virus!!!
Hey, Mr. President! I campaigned for the other guy, but I voted for you!
The myth has gone through so many translations and retellings that I don't think they were entirely sure.
I'm not bad. I'm just drawn that way.
I have a couple things to say on this.
I have also read that it is a vase. Which would seem more acurate to the Ancient Greek culture. But somehow through the ages it has been called a box and the name stuck. So I understand why they made it a box, "for the average movie goer" if you call it a box and then show a vase it would confuse them. Sometime I think Hollywood thinks the "average" movie goer is a uneducated because I would have been fine with it being a vase.
Secondly, I have read the myth and I have read different versions of it. One was of course the traditional Pandora opened the box the evils of the world were unleashed but she shut the box and kept hope inside.
Another version I read was Pandora opened the box and the evils were unleashed but she shut the box in time to stop foreboding. Now that myth said that with foreboding trapped hope remained alive, because with foreboding people would be able to see that was going to happen and how it would all end, basically they could see their deaths and they would not be able to change. So the hope of being able to change things would be gone.
I kinda like the second version better, but that is just me personally. The truth is if you were to really research The Pandora's Box myth you would probably find hundreds if not thousands of versions of it, because it has just been changed over time so much.
Maybe it was an urn with a stopper.
shareI've read of a third version, it's almost the same as the first version you mention- Pandora opened the box the evils of the world were unleashed but she shut the box and kept hope inside. But in this version Hope is considered the worse evil of all because it is false hope and if released would cause mankind to despair and give up on living.
When it comes to bad writing, bad acting, no one does it like the 'SyFy' channel.
I like that version too. It just seems to make more sense to me that something bad would be left within the box rather than something good.
shareHmm, I thought this was going to be a dirty topic from the title.
