Did the Darling family adopt The Lost Boys in the book?

I never knew about that part. In the Disney version, they chose to stay with Pan I believe. I also did not know the film was dedicated to Dodi Al Fayed. Princess Diana's late bf. He must have loved Peter Pan as a kid. I saw his late dad's name in the credits too. I think he helped fund the production. Mohamed died this year.

The fast answer is "mostly, yes."

The original ending to the play just has Wendy, John, and Michael returning home and Peter returning to Neverland. However, Barrie wrote a final scene, called "When Wendy Grew Up, An Afterthought," which says that the rest of the boys were adopted by Mr. and Mrs. Darling.

The version of the novel that I have on my shelf, bragging that it is "complete and unabridged," contains this final scene (or, in this case, chapter).
