Who read the book in school?

We had to, then we were lucky enough to get to see it in theaters in 7th Grade.
We took a class trip and the entire 7th grade, aka 3 or 4 classes went to a local theater.

I had heard of Holes before... but my 4th grade teacher read Holes to us and I was from then on a big Holes fan. I Netflix-ed the movie and have watched it more than 100 times and can repeat all the lines. (Same with the book.) (Except less times.)

Holes rocks.

We first read Holes in 5th grade and everyone (at least in my class) was excited when we found out we were gonna read it in 7th grade. It was like everyones favorite book.

I read it for a book report in 3rd grade. I only had a weekend to do it (no, I didn't procrastinate, that's really all the time I had). Since I was in speed-read mode I couldn't get full enjoyment out of the book until I read it again in 7th grade.

reply

Yeah, in fifth grade our teacher read it to us.

We read it, and the movie came out that spring/summer-I forget the exact date. And a bunch of my friends, classmates and I went to see it. We didn't go for a field trip though, just for fun, though we did get to spend some class time watching promotional stuff for it, and someone bought the soundtrack and we had a mini party. lol

Some kids had already read it for school, but in middle school (probably 7th grade) they read it over the intercom bit by bit. I really enjoyed it that way, the staff member who read it had a good voice for reading aloud, but I bought it and read it again before the movie came out.

I had to read it in 6th grade and it was the most boring book to me. I don't even think I actually read it. Just acted like I did during class then barely passed the quizes. Maybe I was bored because I waas already reading Grisham novels by then. I liked the movie though.
