Someone on another thread said it was like each scene was painted. I totally agree. I think Forrest Gump and the Color Purple were the same way.
Can you think of any other movies that are like this where the cinematography/photgraphy are colorful and beautfiul like a painting?
Although I didn't care for the script -- War of the Worlds (recent remake) had many scenes that were wonderful paintings. I watched the movie with my clicker and would freeze frame everytime I saw one. In fact, I turned the sound off as the dialogue at times was so silly and just watched the images.
shareHero had many beautiful painterly scenes,often based on differing colour schemes. One section of the film would be blue-based,another red,etc. The same director's House Of Flying Daggers was less visually stylised,but still often looked very beautiful.
