In Asia Argento's autobiography, she had this to say about Vin: "I had never heard of him. He was very likeable, and unlike those American actors who have box-office hits and become stars overnight, he hadn't gotten a big head. He seemed normal, and I treated him like any other person, something he was no longer used to and which, I think, relaxed him."
"I got on wonderfully with Vin. We became friends. While writing this book, I went through old diaries and found a text message that Vin had written to me at the end of filming, which I had copied - You have always been a source of warmth for me, a boulevard of hope; to tell the truth, a refuge. I doubt I will ever work with someone who is as good a match for me again."
"When our scenes were over, we would often stay chatting in my caravan or his. We would have some great laughs. Sometimes, for lunch or dinner, when we weren't filming, I would go to his place and cook him spaghetti with ragù, bolognese as he called it. We would roll around joints, we had a good time."
"Everyone was staying in a horrible hotel, except Vin, who had been rented a hell of a villa by the production, for him and all those who accompanied him, his fake friends, his bodyguards. I didn't see much of Vin at that point, we only had two scenes together."
